Posey Melky and Sandoval plus Cain

you could argue for all three position players to NOT be starters and in the case of Sandoval not be an all star

The Posey story however is quite compelling, from a devestating season ending (and Giants crushing season ending) injury back to All Star Starter is pretty compelling

On the other hand, leaving Bumgarner and Vogelsong off is a shame

Vogelsong is among the league leaders in ERA (4th)and all the WAR, Adj. Pitching runs, Base Out Wins etc. and has defeated Giant nemesis and Cy Young winner (and current All star) Kershaw twice this year

Bumgarner has ten wins and has a recent 1 hit shutout against the division leading and hard hitting Reds and is seventh in WHIP and just 3 IP off the league leader

    1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)

I think Vogey got robbed, and possibly Bumgarner too (without taking an extensive look at more numbers from around the league). Melky, Posey, and to a lesser extent Pablo, are all having very good seasons, and Melky and Posey even deserve to be backups (why only two catchers? There ought to be room on the roster for three), but I'm rather dubious about Sandoval's selection. If nothing else, SF fans have proven that fan voting is nothing more than a popularity contest and ought to be scrapped if you really want to call it an all-star game.

May i kindly ask how Pablo is in over Wright? And how Granderson is in over Trumbo/Trout?

Pablo certainly doesn't deserve to start over Wright.

Hmmmmmm I don't think so Wright is a mvp canadaite if he can put it all together.

I don't think even the most ardent Giants fan could make a real case for the Panda to start over Wright. I think the Panda was the beneficiary of the team pushing fans to vote Melky in and the Panda rode in on his coattails.

With that said, I am thrilled for Buster, Melky and Big Matt Cain. And I'm equally sad to see MadBum and Vogy not make it, as they both have earned a spot.

In the AL, Paul Konerko deserves to start at first base, he's having a much better year than Prince Fielder.

Adam Dunn has gome from dead and buried to the All-Star squad. And no Albert Pujols. That's an amazing turn of events when you think about it.

Well now, you can say the same thing about Pablo. My main issues with Pablo as an all-star are the amount of time he has missed and that Wright has better numbers.

I think there should be three catchers and Buster should be the third. I'd go with Molina and Ruiz over him, however.

Wright should easily be starting at 3B.

And, uhhmmm... what magic (Johnson) bag of tricks is being used to have Kemp starting when he's on the DL and can't even run??

What a joke the ASG is.
                            Put it in the books.

Correction, what a joke fan balloting makes the ASG.
