What are the other pitches like? It depends partly on what else he's got.San Francisco Giants, World Series Champions in 2010, 2012, and 2014!!!

To me it's not the speed, but location, location, location“Well, I like to say I’m completely focused, right? I mean, the game’s on the line. Yep, it all depends on the other pitches. The greater the difference between the fastball and the off-speed pitches, the more it messes with the hitter. If he can locate a slower curve to contrast with a 93 MPH heater, he'll do well.
Warren Spahn said it best: "Hitting is timing. Pitching is upsetting timing." and "A pitcher needs two pitches, one they're looking for and one to cross them up.""I can see how he won twenty-five games. What I don't understand is how he lost five." - Yogi Berra on Sandy Koufax's 1963 season.

If their motion doesn't change between the curve and the fastball, i.e., he isn't tipping his pitches, then a slow curveball can be brutal. End up swinging off your front foot, lunging out toward the ball that hasn't made it to the plate yet.Swing and a drive! This one is deep! This one is... over the fence and into the neighbor's yard!
