Competitive Balance Draft Results

So the first competitive balance draft was held today. The Royals, Pirates, Diamondbacks, Orioles, Reds and Marlins will get an extra pick between rounds 1 and 2 in next years draft. Padres, Indians, Rockies, A's, Brewers and Tigers get an extra pick after the 2nd round.

The Rays and Cardinals were eligible but to get picks but lost both lotteries.

And this is supposed to be justice? If MLB really wants to help downtrodden franchises like the Cardinals, they need to do more than put them into a competitive balance lottery.
