When is the last time something like this happened? Eight series sweeps concluded on the same day. I can't remember so many series being swept at the same time:

A's swept the Yankees
Jays swept the Red Sox
Tigers swept the White Sox
Dodgers swept the Mets
D-Backs swept the Astros
Pirates swept the Marlins
Cardinals swept the Cubs
Reds swept the Brewers

There must have been a big sale on brooms at Wal-Mart.
