  • Brew Crew and Reonicke going with closer by committee...

The series vs Philly was devestating to possible trade pieces in Milwaukee's pen. They got rocked each game and had no answer.

I don't think it's much of a damage spot for the Brewers because most relievers are just what they are - not good enough to be a starter. But I thought KRod might step up to get a chance to be a closer elsewhere. Regardless, losing three games with your pen in a row will make other teams a bit more hesitant to pick up pieces the Brewers might like to have moved.

Axford has been bad all year, and KRod has been virtually unusable lately. Back to back blown saves of three runs? They should have swept the Phillies but instead they got swept.

This entire year is a scratch anyway. GM Doug Melvin already confirmed today that Greinke has declined the Brewers' offer of a $100 mil/5 year extension, so they're going to shop him around. I expect the Brewers to trade anybody who they can sell.
