Does this mean Victorino moves to a corner because of Kemp?

The Phillies have traded OF Shane Victorino to the Dodgers for starting pitching prospect Ethan Martin and reliever Josh Lindblom, according to Yahoo’s Tim Brown.

For the Phillies, Domonic Brown will come up to play left field with John Mayberry Jr. becoming the regular center fielder.

Very possible. Shane started his Phillies career in RF and has plenty of arm for the position. He's a plus defender and covers a lot of ground.

I think it's more likely that Kemp moves to left field. He's a pretty poor center fielder.

Victorino in left, Kemp in center, Ethier in right field. Not a bad outfield.

I'd rather have Kemp in left and Victorino in center, but that's just me.

That would be the best move defensively, IMO.

Phillies are in Washington and the Dodgers are at home. Victorino will have to fly across the country to join his new team.

That's why they call him the Flyin' Hawaiian.

It sounds as though the Dodgers are on the verge of getting Ryan Dempster, though we still don't know who's going the other way. I like Dempster more than most, and with the trade of Nate Eovaldi to Miami, the team needs another starter, since who knows what they can expect from Ted Lilly the rest of the year. Still, it looks as though they're probably clearing out considerable minor league pitching depth, and there's reason to worry they might go too far. If Allan Webster is in the deal, Dodger fans have cause to be a bit upset since he has emerged as a top prospect according to at least some evaluations.

Or the Phillies and we're seeing today how that's working out. I'm sure they'll send Cliff Lee to LA for a bag of Dodger Dogs.

I hope you are wrong but the Dodgers have a bad habit of doing that. I am happy to have Victorino on deck and can forsee him in LF He hopefully will add some power to the batting which is the obvious weakness with the Dodgers. The Dodgers spending is where it is needed right now so I don't think they can be compared to the huge spending Yankees.
