BR says he had 5 HBPs in the minors. Maybe one of them was in the head, and that's why he doesn't remember?Former major league outfielder Herm Winningham had 2,069 plate appearances without getting hit and says he never got hit by a pitch in the minor leagues, either. -
The other night during the Mets game I was watching, they showed the video clip of David Wright getting hit in the head by Matt Cain in 2009, which I hadn't seen before. Absolutely terrifying. The Mets' announcers said it took nearly two years for Wright to completely recover. After seeing it, it's a wonder he wasn't killed. I don't know how they ever get back in the batters' box again after something like that.They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.Comment

that sounds a little after the fact
Wright in 2010 had a very good year - almost equal to his previous good years especially considering the league dropped in scoring from the 4.5 to 4.76 range to 4.33
however in 2011 he dropped considerably you would think it would be the other way around1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)
