  • Stumbling Achievement! Never Been Done!

I want to congratulate Jose Reyes on an historic accomplishment that has never been done before!

Last night, Jose Reyes of the Miami Marlins committed the 500,000th error ever recorded in MLB since 1876. Of everyone who has every committed a recorded error, it has never been the 500,000th one until Jose Reyes. No one will ever do this again.

Progressively Active errors leaders throughout random intervals:

1876-1884: Bob Ferguson 798 (0.15% of all recorded errors at the time of Reyes')
1885-1890: Deacon White 1018 (0.20% of all recorded errors)
    1891-1894, 1895: Cap Anson 929 (978 career; 0.196%)
    1899-1904: Herman Long 1049 (all-time leader; 0.21%)
    1910-1915, 1918: Bobby Wallace 814 (0.16%)
    1945-1950: Luke Appling 672 (0.13%)
    1974-1979: Lou Brock 392 (0.08%)
    1994-1996: Ozzie Smith 281 (0.056%)
    2012: Chipper Jones 257 (0.051%)

By coincidence, Reyes earns $500,000/game under his ridiculous contract.

    (OK, close enough...)

Even Ty Cobb's hit total and Hack Wilson's RBI total have been changed in recent years, so it could be done "again", because the chances that it's actually the 500,000th error are quite slim.

Yeah, I would recommend drinking the bottled beer at this party.

Jose Reyes should quit baseball and go back to teaching Spanish...

Please help. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer last summer, and now I'm in a position where I need financial assistance. For the full story, please check out my GoFundMe campaign at https://gofund.me/3874ea2d. Thank you.

I think he should a trophy made of rusted, cheaply welded metal that features a glove with a hole in it.
