Rodney entered Monday with 43 saves and an absurd 0.66 ERA and 0.779 WHIP in 68 innings over 68 appearances. Rodney is having a special season and i know its a long shot for a reliever to win one. But could a Reliever win it this year?

What you are really asking is if a "closer" can win the CYA this year. I wish the Rolaids Relief Man of the Year Award got more recognition. Relievers are such a big part of the game now that they should also deserve an award that gets recognized as much as the Cy Young does.Comment

I never thought relievers should win the CyYoung due to the fact they have the Rolaids Relief Award. Your argument is a valid one that is bought up almost every year
for the CYA also the MVP argument is one that is always bought up every year
that is the one thing that I hate the most that MLB has yet to change
the rules or be more specific on the these two awards
I think the CYA should be for most valuable starting pitchers like its namesake (cy young)
