  • So long Manny Acta...

Sorry that you had to attempt to fix my dismal team with few weapons whatsoever. No manager will ever succeed in Cleveland until they have owners that are willing to spend money again. :P Meanwhile, Sandy Alomar Jr. becomes the interim manager for the rest of the season. Sounds like a new, "Major League" movie plot...Former Indians catcher becomes manager...

Wonder if the red Sox will take him?

I don't think the Redsox have ever had a latino or african american as their manager. That could be a first for em.

what's the reason behind firing a manager 3 days before the season ends and your team is out of contention? that's really stupid. let them finish the season and then find a new one. this also doesn't help the "interim manager" at all. really a stupid decision.

they better spend their money on some quality players and not for an interim manager for a week.

Well if it has to be done why not now?

well what's the reason behind doing it now. one week is to short for the new manager to form any connection to the team. in fact I would prefer a manager coming fresh into it after the winter. I don't think this week will help his standing at all.

also I think it's classless to fire acta that close to the line. that would be like firing a long term employee one month before retirement. they should have fired acta in august or stayed with him

I agree, I don't understand this move at all. The Indians are 19 games out, it's not like Alomar is going to right the ship in a week. Why not let him finish the season?

Maybe they wanted to give Alomar an audition, but again, a week isn't enough time to make any informed evaluation.
They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.

                          Maybe Manny asked for it?

Maybe, but if so, the Indians should have included that in the press release. Because right now, they look like ********.

maybe this is a PR move to get some people into the stands for the last games?
