Remember way back in '02 when Jose Hernandez was shut down by the Brewers because they didn't want him to break Bobby Bonds' record of 189 K's in a year? Well that "record" has now been "bettered" 13 times, most recently by Curtis Granderson this year. Who even knew Granderson was close? Doesn't even register anymore. Five diferrent times 200 K's has been eclipsed and 9 times batters have struck out as many as 199 times in a single season.
Now that's a lot of wasted, unproductive at bats.

Now that the Sox are eliminated, maybe they'll shut Dunn down like they did last year so he wouldn't set the all-time worst BA record.

Adam Dunn may reclaim his old record
With 220 strikeouts, Dunn is 4 strikeouts away from becoming the single season strikeout king, a record he once set back in 2004. He has two games left to play. Interestingly enough, Dunn is also the only player this year to walk over 100 times.Tags: None
