  • Matt cain--more than able!!

The St Louis Cardinals-baseball's defending World Champions--scored only ONE (1) run in the last three games of the NCLS...and Giants pitcher Matt Cain knocked in one run himself in last night's Game 7 finale.

When's the last time a pitcher drove in as many runs as the entire opposing team in any three games in the history of the postseason? And that's not just a rhetorical question. Anyone?

Actually, Giants' pitchers drove in three runs in those three games, while giving up one.
They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.

Zito, Vogelsong and Cain all had more post season RBI than AROD this year.
      1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)

What was the origin of the "Cain was able" saying or whatever?

          The Bible, ultimately.

Yep, you're right. In fact, Cain's single made San Francisco the first team in MLB postseason history to have a starting pitcher drive in a run in three straight elimination games. Even more, in the four games--a total of 37 innings-- that the Cardinals lost to the Giants in this NCLS, they managed to score only two (2) runs--one fewer than the three driven home by the trio of Giant pitchers.

Yes, from the Bible, featuring that Old Testament battery of Cain and Abel.
