Jimmy Dugan: ... But sneaking out like this, quitting, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. Baseball is what gets inside you. It's what lights you up, you can't deny that.
Dottie Hinson: It just got too hard.
Jimmy Dugan: It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great.

Giants are on a roll. I'd hate to be standing in their way. I'm weary of Verlander, though.
San Francisco Giants, World Series Champions in 2010, 2012, and 2014!!!

Indeed another WS title could be headed there way.

I think study after study has showed that time off really has no recordable impact.

You can have the extra days rest...I'll take Justin Verlander.

As I said before game 7. It doesn't matter. What matters is how they play in the series. The Giants weren't favored vs Philly and Texas is 2010. Nor were they favored against the Reds or the Cardinals this year.

The Giants can pitch, they can field. If they hit, they can win.

Who said otherwsie? OF course they can win.

I am just saying that the Tigers have a lot of momentum too and that Verlander starting g1 could nuetralize and layoff/hangover.

Who is saying anything disparaging about the Giants?

Who said anyone did? I'm saying the Yankee series will have no bearing on the World Series.

Okay, my bad - usually when people pull out the "nobody believed in us" bit, they are typically being defensive.

But you are right: the previous series will have no bearing on the next series outcome...for either team, unless pitching rotations get screwed up, of course.

And Sanchez, and Scherzer, and Fister when he's on. And he has been. The Tiger starting rotation is FAR superior to the Giants. Without a doubt.

The apathy for the Tigers is obvious on this board as if it was an accident that they made it to the world series. The Giants got hot for a few games, but lets not forget that they were pretty miserable prior to the past 3 games.

2012 World Series - Who Will Win?

                            Tigers or Giants?
                            1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)

Giants, and I hope Bonds throws out the first pitch.
Lou Gehrig is the Truest Yankee of them all!
