  • When's the last time in baseball history...

    ...that a team --like the Tigers--was shut out only twice(!) in the regular season and then got shut out just as many times (or maybe even more after tonight/Sunday's game) in the World Series? Especially back to back! Very bizarre.

    And look for Barry Zito to drive in another run or two tonight as well to notch some new WS record for a pitcher at the plate.

    Unless Bruce Bochy plans to use Barry Zito as the DH or pinch hit tonight, Zito is not playing tonight. Matt Cain is starting for SF.

      The 1965 Twins were shutout 3 times in the season and 3 times in the WS. What was impressive about that was Koufax did it twice (second time on 2 days rest.) The world series is like that. There are better pitchers (than in the regular season) and the weather is colder, so scoring is expected to be lower.
