  • Yahoo Sports Attempt to be Relevant and Draw Readers

Pascual Perex was in 207 MLB games of which 17 were with the Yankees. That is enough to get the lead article as shown. It wasn't the first time. It wasn't a mistake.

I'm not really targeting Yahoo, although they deserve it. I'm just a bit tired of people who don't understand anything about sports being able to repeatedly post about sports as if they have any clue about it.

I know, it's naive, but sometimes I need to vent. I'm not taking issue that it's the Yankees that were in the lead. I'm sure if he had been a Giant or Dodger (rather than Yankee), then that's what they would have used.

Yes, these are the types of people who vote for MVP and the Hall. They do what they do to gain fans and keep fans and don't care if it makes sense, is correct or has any logic. What ever sells is what they'll do. Thus, Perez is an ex-Yankee.

Writers don't write the headlines. Editors do. Editors aren't doing the voting.

Hmm...now I learned something. So disregard my rant about the MVP and Hall.

I don't know who's worse the Yahoo writers or the Bleacher Report writers.
"(Shoeless Joe Jackson's fall from grace is one of the real tragedies of baseball. I always thought he was more sinned against than sinning." -- Connie Mack

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)

In the case of those two articles, they both came via the AP.... As does most of their headlines. For their opinion pieces, they have some good writers, some bad writers and some terrible writers, but so does every news vehicle out there.
