  • Loria and Cuban

As a Marlins fan, will someone please explain why Selig permits Loria to own and damage two franchises yet Mark Cuban cannot and will never own a major league franchase as long as Seig is the commish? Mark Cuban would certainly revitalize any moribund franchise.

Simple. Cuban likes to win at everything he does. If he was an MLB owner he wouldn't toe the company line in terms of limiting players salaries. Cuban knows that by paying for top talent and winning championships he would make even more money. Cuban bought the Dallas Mavericks on January 4th, 2000. Before Cuban owned the team the Mavericks had a .398 all-time winning percentage. Since Cuban has bought the team the Mavs have .678 winning percentage which includes two trips to the NBA Finals and an NBA title.
Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.-Crash Davis

As a Mets fan, will someone please explain why Selig permits Fred Wilpon to own and damage my team?
The Mets have the best, smartest fans in baseball.

^ This is the reason BBF needs a damn "Like" button... :-)

Bud Selig just hates the NL East.

Look at the Expos/Nationals, Mets and Marlins.

I thought this was gonna be about Loria and his relationship with the Cuban community in Miami.

BTW, I feel lucky that McCourt and Allan were not the best of friends. If they wers, I'd feel the same way as Marlins and Meta fans. The Dodgers would be stuck with McCourt.

Using a stolen chant from Boston Celtics fans whenever an L.A. team is playing up there just reeks of inferiority complex.

If hitting a baseball is the toughest thing to do in sports, then pitching must be the easiest thing to do in sports.
