If the recent spring workout pictures are any indication, that would be no.

Out of curiosity I looked at Page 1. lolol. "it's the hitting coach...4 tool..." He has hit .184 and .208 with 180 hits total and 151 and 173 strikeouts in his two seasons.

Can Upton Jr.'s hitting woes be fixed?:
Before I did a news hit about B.J. Upton announcing he wants to go by his given name of Melvin Upton Jr., I looked into some numbers to see what has caused his troubles since he joined the Braves two seasons ago.

Can't believe this was my position 2 years ago. Thanks Melvin.

There's still upside as I wouldn't bet against him hitting .300 again with his new hitter-friendlier ballpark. If he hits .250 every year though it'll be a great deal for the Braves.

    Bet on this:

BJ Upton will have 5 straight 30/30 seasons for the Braves with a 35/35'er to start if off in 2013.

And if he hits under .200 in his time as a Brave?

Of course Upton will get better, but he's going to need to put together a hell of a last 4 months to go 30-30.....or even 20-20.

If it wasnt for Ike Davis, Upton would BY FAR be the worst everyday player in baseball up until this point (I'm assuming)

Last year Upton hit 5 homers through the first half of the season and 23 in the second. If he hits 2 more before July 1 he'll be ahead of where he was last year. Until he settles on a swing though that won't happen.

He's still a better ex-Rays signing than Jeff Keppinger.

I just don't get it with B.J. Upton. While I didn't expect him to carry the Braves team, I was still kind of excited with the signing of both him and his brother. I didn't get to watch him much in TB, but B.J. looks lost at the plate this year and behind on every swing.

    And 220 K's.

At what point do they Braves have to do something with him? .151/.240/.257 with an OPS+ of 37. His WAR is -.9

Wow, Taylor Swift is likely to have more than that.
