  • My Current MLB Power Rankings

1.Giants - Champs have done nothing to make them worse

2.A's - They have scary potential now that all those rookies have a year of experience

3.Blue Jays - Best lineup in baseball

4.Reds - Crazy talented and I see Hamilton taking the league by storm whenever he comes up

5.Nationals - Great rotation and lineup could improve with Harper getting a year of experience

6.Angels - 2nd best lineup in baseball, would be higher but I worry about the chemistry

7.Cardinals - Still have a great lineup, and you would hope a healthier rotation but Matheny concerns me

8.Braves - Good but flawed team, They have big potential if Medlan can repeat what he did last year and Heyward becomes a superstar

9.Phillies - I think Lee and Halladay are pissed about last year want to remind everyone why they are getting paid so much. I think they are 1 bat away from competing with the Nationals

10.Tigers - Haven't fixed the bullpen or fielding issues and no way Cabrera stays healthy the whole year playing 3rd again, I think they take a step
    back

11.Orioles - They bring back almost everybody lets see if they can recapture the magic
12.Rangers - How could I forget about the Rangers? They still have a formidable lineup but their rotation is VERY suspect.
13.Yankees - Old as dirt and a very average looking lineup going in to next year
14.White Sox - Ventura is a great manager but they are still a few pieces away
15.Dodgers - lol building the team like a 12 year old would on playstation

So the Rays are 14 because they can't hit..... But have arguably the deepest Rotation in all of baseball and have more pitchers in the pipeline..... But they can't hit but have the best 3rd baseman in all of baseball. Lol ok...... And dodgers are at 15 because they are spending..... Forgive me but your Power rankings seem a tad...... Stupid......... Yanks are above the Rays..... How? Jays haven't proven anything and have been in the gutter for awhile and did the same thing as the dodgers but they are better then the dodgers? Lol wut......

Make the arguable argument, please. Can they hit? Do they deserve a higher ranking over teams that have advanced in the playoffs or have an actual proven track record? How are they better than any of the teams the "stupid" rankings have above them? And, try not to be biased or anything.

So you agree with his rankings? I made my arguments he is ranking the Jays higher then the dodgers because the Jays have a better lineup? But ranking the Dodgers so low because they are spending. And He is basically ranking the yanks above the Rays for the same reason he is ranking the Rays so low. But HE ranks the Halos Reds And braves above some good teams? The halos have spent crazily and yet didn't make the post-season.... The A's have one good year but get booted in the first round like the O's and Nats and there all better only after a year..... IF that is biased then yep i am biased. You also seem to have real issues with anything i post and seem to come after me the same as you claim i do against others that seems a tad hypocritical.

I wasn't surprised by you ranking the Dodgers last on your list and your irrational comment given that you're a homer Anaheim fan. You also said you're only worried about the chemistry when you should be more worried about your pitching.

Using a stolen chant from Boston Celtics fans whenever an L.A. team is playing up there just reeks of inferiority complex.

If hitting a baseball is the toughest thing to do in sports, then pitching must be the easiest thing to do in sports.

well I would not say they can't hit but they did have Trouble to score runs in the last seasons.

they were just 11th in runs last season. they were also 12th in OPS, 12th in BA and 8th in OBP. of course this can be partly attributed to their home park (same is true for their pitching success) but Overall they did not score a lot of runs.

they are still dangerous and I would not rank them that low but even with their pitching they will Need to score a Little more if they want to make the PS.

Agreed. Reds too high too. Not only did they way over-perform their run differential last year, but they had a lot of guys outperforming their peripherals/norms too (Arroyo, Ludwick, Cueto to some degree).

I get the criticism of how the Dodgers are built, but the fact is they have a terrifying lineup and a pretty decent array of pitchers. I still worry about the Giants, who even with all the money the new regime spent, might still have the superior rotation, and the Nationals, should they ever work out that it's better to limit Strassberg's time at the beginning, not the end. The unproven Blue Jays, the still-young A's or the every bit as 'Playstation' lineup Angels, I do not worry about. And the Dodgers- people forget this since they're so new as a team- do not seem to have a chemistry problem.

                      1. The Rays do not have the deepest rotation, the Giants, Nationals and A's all have better and deeper rotations.
                      2. The Jays have a balanced and well built roster nothing like the Dodgers who have a bunch of, overpaid, injury riddled, and washed up former all stars.

Hmm.. Agon at 1st, still performing at peak, healthy and young.
Ellis at 2nd, not ideal, maybe, but still a top fielder and not a bad #2 hitter.
Hanley- may never hit for average again but still an RBI threat, particularly in that lineup.
Kemp- one injury-riddled year proves nothing.
AJ Ellis - Probably can't hit as well again, but has certainly proven he's a regular MLB catcher.

I see your point with Crawford, who's still young and could still be great if he can stay healthy, and Ethier who will probably never hit lefties (but one of the best hitters in baseball against righties), but still- I think it's naive to dismiss that lineup, particularly considering they've already shown themselves willing to make adjustments mid-season if they have to.

Bold prediction- the Dodgers and Giants will be battling it out all year, and whoever comes out ahead will be squaring off in the World Series against some team other than the Blue Jays, A's or Angels.

                        Gentleman's bet?

Do you remember the days when Wade Davis, Jeff Niemann and Jake McGee were supposed to be your young guns of tomorrow? Added with BJ Upton, Delmon Young, Elijah Dukes, Joel Guzman and Reid Brignac....they were gonna lead your team to the promise land in the future.

Your Rays smacked it out of the ballpark landing Longoria, Price and Hellickson, but more times than not....those bright shiney prospects fizz out or do not develop. There isn't a shadow of a doubt in my mind that your Rays have another bright star of the future in Moore, but I am not so sure Jennings will become the star envisioned.
