Yeah it came out today.
Pretty good game. Some good some bad. The new hitting system is VERY hard to get use to. At first in Varsity you think "Wow this isn't too bad" then you get up to All-American where you get alot more changeups/sinkers and it becomes difficult again, but its all in practicing and learning. The gameplay is very similar to MVP, recruiting seems NCAA Football cool.
The create-a-ballpark isn't as great as I thought it would've been since you can't change colors or anything just length and height of the walls and the playing surface/background.
All in all if you like baseball pro or college this is of course a pickup. But don't expect anything amazing its good though.

Initial thoughts
I think this game takes some getting used to. I simulated a season and I like how the offseason plays out. However, I don't like how slow all the player movements are. I had to really crank up the sliders just to make it playable. Also, I realize they probably didn't get a huge budget to make this game, but when I hit a high fly ball to RIGHT field, I don't want to hear Mike Patrick announce that I hit the ball to LEFT field! Or when I'm trying gun a runner out at home the ump gives the safe sign but the game called him out. I also noticed that between innings the game sometimes forgets to give acurate averages. (Instead of what they are batting, it will read .000). I may be being a bit over critical, but if they could get these things right in MVP 2005, and it is the same game engine, than what gives? The create a stadium/team needs some work but it isn't terrible. On the positive, I like the player manerisms a lot. They are very college looking if that makes sense. I'm not trying to be totally negative, I am warming up to the game now that I have spent time customizing it. I just thought that the things I mentioned would be useful to some people that are as critical as I am with their games.

Would you mind posting your sliders? I'd love to see what you did to tweek it, 'cause I'm having a hell of a time getting a win on All-American, let alone getting solid hits (most of my hits are lucky bounces, errors, etc.)Chicago White Sox :: Tampa Bay Rays :: Milwaukee Brewers

I got the PS2 version.
Its actually the most online any game really has been.
First off you connect when you start the game because the ESPN ticker on the bottom updates you with live "real-life" scores. Also, online friends can jump right into your current game as an opponent or as a teammate first online co-op sports game.Chicago White Sox :: Tampa Bay Rays :: Milwaukee Brewers

Best Game so Far
This game is incredible. There are about 160 teams and each are realistic. There are great creating options. My favorite is the Stadium Creater. What other game allows you to build a stadium? Get it!

And here are slider settings from Jistic from the operationsports.com forum. His sliders always seem to work for me, no matter what game they are for.
