MLB the show 08. The best one I have played in a long time.

The most engrossing baseball game that I've ever played is Old Time Baseball for the PC. Right now, my favorite game is MLB Power Pros.
46 wins to match last year's total

MVP 05, without a doubt. I've never been so attached to fictional characters.

          MVP 05.

After that, a mix of MLB the Show 07/08. The slow animations of the 2nd basemen hitting the glove in his ball 3 times before throwing it in The Show 08 is rather annoying.

That, and the grounders that graze your infielders' ankles without them making any attempt to field them.

I <3 MVP 06. Can't wait until EA gets the MLB license back.

MVP 2005: It's the reason I haven't bought a PS3 or 360. Sure they may have better graphics, but as far as gameplay is concerned MVP 2005 is still better than anything out there. The Hitter's Eye has to be one of the best ideas in video baseball history. Until someone can make a better game I will continue playing my MVP 2005 everday.

EA might actually take over 2K games. 2K has lost a lot of money. Even their recent success BioShock didn't get them out of debt. GTA IV helped but that's only going to last so long.

MLB 2008: The Show for PS3 is good. I played it at my friends house a few times. Amazing game, amazing graphics.

Yeah, MVP 05 was simply amazing.
I used to love Triple Threat before that, and am pleased with MLB 08: The Show, although the bugs mentioned above are a bit annoying. Not to mention the 100+ SB a season by several players. Heck, I even stole a base with David Wells.

I love Old Time Baseball too, but it doesn't like the new PCs. Do you still play it?

Nope. I probably need a DOS emulator for it or something, and I don't have one.

I use DOSBox, and it works okay, but I can't get any sound out of it. I have to go to setup and take out the audio portion or it crashes when you start the game.
I have tried a couple of the new simulation games, like Baseball Mogul 2008, but I missed the actual pitching, hitting and fielding - plus the great classic stadiums. Although I have always been disappointed that it doesn't have the Baker Bowl. I really liked that one from Tony LaRusa BB2.
But I still find that OTB has the most depth and flexiblity.

I will always love All-Star Baseball 2004, after that MVP 2005.
Unlike most other team sports, in which teams usually have an equivalent number of players on the field at any given time, in baseball the hitting team is at a numerical disadvantage, with a maximum of 5 players and 2 base coaches on the field at any time, compared to the fielding team's 9 players. For this reason, leaving the dugout to join a fight is generally considered acceptable in that it results in numerical equivalence on the field, and a fairer fight.

Yeah, it really does. I'll always have the memories, I suppose. I do remember it being rather irritating that the database ended at 1981.
