I just entered my 30th year playing Strat-O-Matic Baseball. I currently run two ongoing solotaire leagues; one that incorporates players from the '50's and '60's and the other which incorporates players from the '60's and '70's. In the past, I played Cadaco All-Star Baseball, APBA, Sports Illustrated and Dynasty League (formerly Pursue The Pennant.) In my opinion, for realism and playability, none of them compare to Strat-O-Matic.

I like Dynasty League the best (I play this a lot on the computer) followed by Strat O Matic. When I was I was a kid I liked playing Sher Co a lot, also.

I play Replay Baseball. Dice, cards, score sheet, imagination...it's the only way to play!

            Board Games

I still have my SI Baseball game from 1971 with the 1970 team charts and i still have some APBA board games with past seasons. but since i got the Stratomatic computer baseball game i have not played any board games. everyone should try the stratomatic computer baseball and hockey games.

I started playing Strat-O-Matic in 1968 with the '67 season cards. I bought each new season and played at least a limited season each year through the 70's and sporadically in the 80's. I still have boxes of the cards. I bought Pursue the Pennant during its first year but never played it. The box is still in my closet untouched.

Recently I discovered Diamond Mind (the stand alone PC version) and have bought several disks full of seasons and I'm enjoying it very much.

About a month ago Toys R Us had the 2006 version of Strat-O-Matic available thru their website for less than $10. It was deal too good to pass up and I might just give it a whirl once my current DMB season is over.

I hate to bump an old thread, but I'm an avid strat player. In fact, I just posted a thread about spots open for a solitare league if anyone wants to sign up

I had the same SI game. That's the one with the trifold team cards? Played that until the things were falling apart.

I ahd two versions of Sher-Co, using different ways of rating players. I think I got the first one in 1974 with 1973 team cards. Then got another one a couple years later. Also had them send a set of all-time teams.

Hey guys...give Replay Baseball a good look. Web site below. They have a sale going on as we speak. They offer hoops and football as well. The baseball game is great!

I'm a Strat nut. Not just baseball, but football, basketball, and hockey as well. I have computer versions of all.

Avalon Hill's Statis Pro was very cool in the 80s, although their football and basketball games were only fair.

I played Strat-O-Matic football and baseball as a kid. We would set up leagues and play full seasons. I loved keeping detailed individual player statistics.

                              Bryan -

Yes, I play baseball board games.

For some games/seasons, I play Strat-O-Matic, for others I play Statis Pro, and for others I play TIG (The IBL [Internet Baseball League] Game).
