  • MLB.com 2008 Open--need advise

I need your advise. this is my starting team:

    C-Geovany Soto
    1b-Howard
    2b-Kinsler
    ss-Hanley Ramirez
    3b-Aramis Ramirez
    OF's-Ichiro, Berkman, Soriano
    P-Braves

Someone is offering me Jermaine Dye, and the Angels pitching staff for Ichiro, I know this would be a great improvement to my pitching staff, but I dont know about trading a stud like Ichiro, what do you guys recommend? Thanks!
    Yankees' payroll: $250 millions
    Marlins' payroll: $50 millions
    Marlins winning The Series: Priceless

I don't know how this works, so you'll have to explain it to me. You have an entire team's pitching staff? And you're being offered a 2nd team's pitching staff as well? What's the other person going to use for pitching, if you get all of their pitching?

Yeah, you use an entire pitching staff, you can only have one starting though, he's got the Angels and the Tigers, and he is wlling to part with one of them, if I get the Angels, then I wont be starting the Braves, that's why I was asking, is Ichiro worth the cost of starting the Angels over the Braves?

I honestly wouldn't let go of Ichiro in this situation. Dye is a backup OF at best. Also, if you run into serious problems with the Braves' pitching staff, can't you pick up another staff as a free agent or off of waivers?

By the way, I'm fielding a team in the 08 Open as well, but this is my first time, so take my advice with a grain of salt

If this is based on how they'll do next year, both of the Angels' aces are out for a month. I think I'd stick with what you've got.

I was leaning that way too, and yeah, I already picked the Giants' staff and have them on my bench. Thanks for the advise
