  • Johnny Cueto or David Price?

I have a question to you guys...

I have the second waiver pick in my fantasy keeper league.

Now that Johnny Cueto came up and pitched 7 innings, 1 hit, and had 10 K's,
I wonder if I have to try to pick him, or wait till David Price comes up?

    Who is the better one?

    Long-term?
I know you're watching, Si. Bu.

Were you in Keith Law's chat?

I would go with Cueto for now and Price for long term, as in not this year at all.

Price has more upside but Cueto has less risk. Both are good picks.

Not so sure about that. OK Cueto had a excellent debut, but nobody knew him. So he has of course a big advantage. And you cant be blinded by an excellent debut. First he has to pithc a full season.

But from a potential-standpoint, I would still prefer David Price. Am I so wrong?

But if you saw Cueto's stuff, you would know he is in for a great season. It is just filthy. He'll be challenging for the lead in the NL in Ks.
Unlike most other team sports, in which teams usually have an equivalent number of players on the field at any given time, in baseball the hitting team is at a numerical disadvantage, with a maximum of 5 players and 2 base coaches on the field at any time, compared to the fielding team's 9 players. For this reason, leaving the dugout to join a fight is generally considered acceptable in that it results in numerical equivalence on the field, and a fairer fight.
