  • PS2 Gaming Advice.....

I'm sure this has been posted dozens of times before, but I'm looking to buy a baseball game for my PS2. Could any of the experienced gamers tell me which is the best one out there? I'm considering this one when it comes out next week. Thanks in advance.

MVP 2005 from EA is the best baseball game ever made imo. It's got everything you could ask for with legendary players, A, AA, AAA teams, owner and franchise modes, hitting challenge, derby, etc... I'm just gonna keep playing that one, but I'll probably rent this new one for the 360 just to check it out. Can't imagine it being better than any EA game though. It does have the WBC on there which is kinda cool, and looks like they copied the "hit stick" from MVP.

If you are willing to spend more money, get MLB 06: The Show. It has great graphics, options, and unlockables. The career mode is only found here.

Don't forget it has the best gameplay. But if you want to stick with the current rosters, get the show 2k baseball games gameplay isn't as good as MLB games.

I agree with all posted above. To me, The Show seems like a copy of MVP 04, which was great, but MVP 05 was better, so I'll stick with 05. I find that 2K sports games tend to have somewhat boring gameplay and everything they "innovate" they copy from EA. MLB is the only one with no copies, but it's not the best. However, with the discontinuation of the MVP series for the MLB, The Show is the best by far.

I would go with MVP 2005 which is a real good game. Another good game is MLB 06 the show. I think MVP 2005 is a better game than mlb 06 but both are games worth buying.
