There's already a thread just like this where you can post your rosters, stats, discuss strategy, etc.

Are you going to make any trades? Can you get yourself out of that god-awful stadium on that game and build your own?

I keep simming. Some guy named Freddy Sanchez keeps hitting over .350 and I have to start him

Meanwhile, I traded Mike Cuddyer to Baltimore for Travis Hafner. Brad Fullmer retired, Hafner in at 1B, Jose Guillen at DH.

I don't know. Check my post #16 where I posted my stats, and see if those guys are a legit rotation. That's every game played on All-Star mode.

Not a shabby lineup there Did you do owner mode or franchise mode? If you did owner, you might wanna pay attention to your payroll. Too high, and you won't be able to build your stadium up.

Not sure what his salary is, but for a young guy like Weeks, you're better off signing him right away to a 7 year deal. As low as possible. With him, I'm guessing you could get away with about 4.5 mil a year or something, but not sure about that. Better off doing it now, because if you put up good numbers with him, he's only gonna want more later.

If you turn the fair trades option off, you can pretty much make any trade with your team, or between other teams.

A few good young, cheap pitchers are:

    SP Darryl Buhler
SP Edwin Jackson (throws 98/99 (100 in Coors)
    SP R. Aushrat (throws 99/100 (101 in Coors, wicked slide-piece, 2 seamer,change)
SP Bobby Bath (throws 97, everything else just plain filthy. I made him my closer)
    Lefty RP - Choi
    Lefty RP - T. Coleman

Definately save up your MVP points to buy old stadiums and players, that's cool as hell. I got all the legends sprinkled throughout the league and made trades to put most of them in my own league and division, just so I could face 'em. Needless to say Babe gets a IBB whenever possible. Glad to hear you got the game. It's the best out there. Feel free to ask about strategy, approach, etc..

Yeah, pro is waaay too easy.

I stick with All-Star mode, and the only slider I adjust is to make the computer baserunning slightly more aggressive, bumping it up to 20, and I also adjust both of our steal delays, bringing that down to -10 or -15.

The key is to have the pitching cursor turned on all the time, rather than fade. And having the variable strike zone turned on is cool too.

I've found that All-Star mode is the most realistic, being that you really only get 1 maybe 2 good pitches to hit per AB. On MVP mode, forget about it, you might get 1 pitch to hit hard, and it might be on the outer half. Gotta really be patient and work the count.

Here's what I got so far through 51 games, every game played on All-Star Mode.

About 130 because Pro was too easy and All-Star too difficult. I'm adjusting the sliders a little but it's hard to find a good balance and low-scoring too.

It doesn't contain the players that finished the season in the minors.

How many games did you sim? If not, I don't see how you can walk that much. So hard to stay patient.

Are you playing on All-Star mode?

Do you have hitters eye on?

Did you never buy MVP 2005? They made it much better imo.

The names are a bit weird, but there's issues with the players association in regards to certain players and minor leaguers I think. How's that John Dowd workin' out for ya? Has he had any knee problems
I guess they didn't use more names because of the game commentary. Well they should have given Kruk and Kuip another phone book to read

I bought MVP 2004 because a friend has it and we can play each other online.

    There ya go...

Fictional players are in italics. The game could do a better job at creating fictional names.

I'm always on a tight budget, couldn't resign Roger Clemens after 2004 and had to trade Ken Griffey Jr. after 2005.
