Mythical SF Chronicle scouting report: "That Jeff runs like a deer. Unfortunately, he also hits AND throws like one." I am Venus DeMilo - NO ARM! I can play like a big leaguer, I can field like Luzinski, run like Lombardi. The secret to managing is keeping the ones who hate you away from the undecided ones. Is the clock running on Sockeye? If so, did it start at 9 AM EST? I guess that's 06:00 BBF time? Does he have up to 8 hours to make his choice?

250 draft choices at 8 hours to choose with 8 hour dead periods

              this might end in November
              1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)

Actually a 6 hour dead period (like it matters to you), but it could theoretically take almost 4 months

This is Erik's idea, and he should run it as he sees fit. I'm in it for the duration. However, it's my experience that projects like this often lose steam if they're not completed, or at least well along, within about a month.

I would be happy if we could find some way to speed up the process somewhat, but if not I'll plug along. I just hope the enthusiasm level can stay up.

BigRon is on the clock until 8:39 PM Eastern.

What do people think about the potential of "lightning rounds", when we all arrange a time to get online, and shorten the clock for that period?

It's a great job, if you can get it

Theoretically, this could take a stupid amount of time. But in reality, a lot of us will pick within minutes of it becoming our turn. RMB and I did that all the time in previous drafts. I won't be able to do it as much with my job, but it'll still happen. Also, often in these things, if you get skipped, you'll be skipped again automatically when it becomes your turn again until you make a pick.

I'm for lightning rounds once in a while.

                          Also, did you PM people?
