  • Negro League Simulation

I've been creating teams in a program I designed. They randomly barnstorm 2012 teams with rosters as current as opening day. So far, I've created the dead-ball (1901-1919), live ball (1920-1949), integration (1950-1979) and modern (1980-present) teams using 20-man rosters consisting of the all-time greats at each position for each era. I plan to do 19th century, too.

Now I need some help. I want to create a team of all-time Negro Leaguers, but I don't know enough about the players to create them for the simulation. I use the same criteria as one would if they were creating a player in MLB The Show. I ask everyone to give me what they believe are the best fitting numbers (from 0-99; don't worry about making them perfect) for each category on the following players. Feel free to contribute as many as you want, whether it's one or all.

    Martin DiHigo
    Turkey Stearnes
Cool Papa Bell (hitting and fielding)
    Christobel Torriente
    Jud Wilson
    Willard Brown
    Biz Mackey
    Josh Gibson (fielding)
    Oscar Charleston (fielding)

As a reminder, here are the categories used as criteria:

    Contact (vs Righties)
    Contact (vs Lefties)
    Power (vs Righties)
    Power (vs Lefties)
    Bunting
    Drag bunting
    Plate Vision
    Plate Discipline
    Clutch
    Speed
    Arm Strength
    Arm Accuracy
    Fielding
    Reaction
    Blocking (catchers only)
    baserunning ability
    Baserunning aggression
