For some reason, one of my favorite all-time SF Giant teams is the 75 Giants. I was 19 years old and stationed in the Navy at Great lakes Ill. I just lived for baseball that year and was obsessed with the 80-81 Giants. I always wanted to play them in a league and hit upon an idea to make them competitive. I designed a league where a team cannot be more than 2 games over or under .500. I wanted to spread it out have a 100 year span between teams.
Here are the teams
1911 Phillies 75-77
1934 Red Sox 76-76
1940 Pirates 78-76
1958 Indians 77-76
1963 Cubs 82-80
1975 Giants 80-81
1993 Dodgers 81-81
2010 A's 81-81
There are a few good players here. Grover Alexander's rookie year. Arky Vaughn, Rocky Colivito has a fabulous 58' season, Piazza's rookie year.
Rules: advanced, no injuries, unlimited usage if over 100 ABs and 100 innings, , 'relievers only' cannot start, no rest, 4 man rotation, designated closer can only pitch 2 innings and his team must be ahead or tied. no minor leaguers elligible.
I'll play a 162 game season. I figure, if I average 4 games a day, That I can finish in 6 months. I'll post updates every 20 games.
