Playstation 3 Baseball Games with Historical Teams

I am looking for a simulation. I am also looking for a game where you can just upload a roster.

I don't think any of the video game systems has a good baseball simulation game. They have arcade type baseball games with great graphics, but the outcome depends on your quickness and skill more than the individual players represented. A baseball simulation does not depend on your hand speed. In a simulation you can manage the teams and the players are computed to perform like real life. Video games have great graphics, baseball simulations are not visually intense. With a simulation you can manage any team in any season. You can even set up a draft league. The Strat-O-Matic game company has the only game in the actual Baseball Hall-of-Fame. You can own and play with any season from 1876 to 2012. They will even have statistically accurate Negro League seasons available for pre-order January 17 for a February 8th release. However this is for computer rather than console. They also have a board game version, but there is less availability of seasons with it. You can upload Strat-O-Matic baseball online. BTW, they also have their own baseball game forums.

I have MLB 12 The Show, and I've created historical rosters of every franchise (I combined some of the ones with shorter histories like the Marlins and Astros, naming them the Starfish). I don't know how to make them downloadable for others, but if you ever want the information I used to create them, feel free to ask.

I've used Fangraphs, Baseball-Reference, Neyer/James Guide (for pitch repertoire), historical accounts, information from this site, Batting Stance Guy (I find which in-game stance most resembles his interpretations), and what I already know. If I may be so immodest, I think it came out very well. I still enjoy playing with them today. In fact, I just finished a game of the top 1970s AL players vs. the 2012 AL all-stars.

I thought it was as simple as uploading the roster. *shrugs* Maybe it isn't; I've never tried to edit a roster and upload it.

If you want that, I suggest you start next season with MLB 13 The Show and wait for some fans to make their own historical teams and post the rosters publicly for downloading. Depending on the person, they're usually pretty good!

I never bought one but I think all of them have historical players and you can create your own teams with whoever you want on it.
