Are we in fact going to use a simulator? It might be easier than trying to rank all these teams by ourselves.

just remember we pick league winners first then have a world series winner

Guys I am sorry = have been on pins and needles the last week or so
I accepted a really nice job and was supposed to start last Friday and had about 6 work days to do 2 weeks of home study before I traveled to the east coast for a week of training but due to delays on the company's end , I am now only starting tomorrow and will have all of 3 business days to do 2 weeks of home study
SO I will submit my roster for the 1965 Giants and then will have to ask someone else to finish the last part of the league, mainly the two rounds of votes/sims
Anyone?

I will have very limited computer access from Saturday December 1 thru Thursday December 6. I will try to get to a computer sometime during these days but if I can't just vote without me - don't wait for me.Last edited by John Shoemaker; 11-28-2012, 05:42 PM.

1953 Brooklyn Dodgers- Modified Roster
The 1953 Dodgers were one of the best offensive teams of all times, combining high averages, outstanding power, and good baserunning. They were also a standout defensive team. Their only flaw was their pitching staff. They had lost ace Don Newcombe to the Korean War draft; Preacher Roe was fading; Joe Black struggled due to an arm injury after a brilliant rookie season. Collectively, their pitching was no better than average.
I'll see what I can do to make this brilliant but flawed team even better.
1. Robin Roberts replaces Ralph Branca.
2. Warren Spahn replaces Russ Meyer.
3. Stan Musial replaces Dick Williams.
4. Eddie Mathews replaces Bobby Morgan.
5. Hoyt Wilhelm replaces Jim Hughes.
6. Lew Burdette replaces Ben Wade.
1/2. Preacher Roe 1952 replaces Preacher Roe 1953.
1/2. Joe Black 1952 replaces Joe Black 1953.
I've added enormously to what was already among the best offensive lineups of all time with the addition of Musial in LF and Mathews at 3B. Jackie Robinson returns to 2B, where he was still excellent defensively. The lineup boasts a super-impressive collection of high BAs, high OBPs, high SAs, and home run firepower. The bench gets a big boost, with Cox, previous starter at 3B and SS, and Gilliam, 1953 ROY, at 2B, where he will start at least 30 games, spelling Robinson.
The pitching staff gets a massive upgrade. Spahn and Roberts, the 2 best pitchers in the NL in 1953, anchor the starting rotation. Joe Black 1952 replaces 1953 Black. Black was one of the very best pitchers in the NL in '52- the best, on a rate stat basis. Wilhelm joins the staff as another ace short man to go along with Black and Labine- all 3 are capable of going multiple innings. Lew Burdette is an effective swingman, doing spot start duty with Roe 1952 version, as well as long/middle relief.
