--The Opening series' have been played and results are up in the schedule thread. The good news for everyone is there were no injuries. The Knights and Gamblers can also celebrate sweeps.
--If there were injuries to be dealt with, I'd wait until tommorrow to play the next series'. Since there weren't, the next batch of games will be played later today. I'm going to bed now. I'll check for any updates in the morning before playing the next series.
--Please use this thread for any in-season business. The draft thread has pretty much served its purpose. The rules thread can continue to support that purpose. Keep your roster updated if you make changes, but make sure anything that will require me to make an update is clearly stated here to ensure your roster is updated in the program.

EH - You have me a little confused, maybe Mark knows what is going on. You have Mike McCormick listed as your #4 starting pitcher, but I don't find him on your roster anywhere. I see Joe Gibbon listed. Did I miss a move somewhere? Please let me know, so I can get the staffs correct in OOTP before I sim any games. Thanks!

--I don't really understand where McCormick came from either. I just stuck Gibbon in that spot as he was earlier on the roster.
--I did get off to a pretty rip roaring start. I won't get too cocky until I've played some real teams though. My first 2 series were against doormats (series 2 results up in a few minutes). I'll be disappointed if I don't win 80% of my games against them.

Scott - Mark showed you one short on your 25 man active roster after you dropped De La Hoz, but I showed that bringing you down to the 25 man limit. Must have missed something there, too, but based on your rosters you show 25 on the active roster. So I put Tuttle in AAA.

Mark, maybe you can help here. I show his active roster (after dropping De La Hoz) as: Burgess, Averill, Sievers, Fox, K. Boyer, Aparicio, B. Williams, Snider, Maris,Kasko, Ashburn, F. Alou, Spencer, Bilko, Spahn, Pizzaro, Monbouquette, Terry, McBride, Wilhelm, T. Fox, Shantz, Hoeft, Brosnan and Willey. That's 25, so maybe someone got sent down I missed.

BTW Scott, you also only had one player listed per position, which is OK, but any subs in OOTP will be computer picked. If you want to set subs/percentages to control it better, let me know.

--I show Willey in the minors. I directly downloaded the team file Scott e-mailed me and didn't compare it to what he later posted. Since we aren't even playing the same schedule in the mirror league, a minor difference here and there probably isn't a big deal anyway (are you going to account for injuries?).
--Injuries in the 2nd series are Larry Jackson (10/0 served) and Frank Howard (3/2), both of the Gamblers. Chris Short of the Phillies also has a 4 game injury.

              Mark:

I changed a few things. The Gamblers manager would just like to use More Relievers instead of Most Relievers.

Also, Larry Jackson was moved to the minors while Jim Perry has come up to the majors to fill that role. I forgot if it was all right to move an injured player to the minors.

Lastly, I just wanted to mention Frank Howard's not on my team.
              AL East Champions: 1981 1982
              AL Pennant: 1982
              NL Central Champions: 2011
              NL Wild Card: 2008

At the time you don't think much of it; you know, we just don't recognize the significant moments of our lives while they're happening. Back then I thought, 'Well, there'll be other days.' I didn't realize that that was the only day." - Moonlight Graham

I show Willey in the minors.
He must have changed something in the file he sent you from what he has posted. In the roster thread, he has Willey listed as his spot starter, so I went with that.

Yes, the game automatically tracks injuries. It will ask if you want to put the injured player on the DL or not. If you do, of course, then you can call up a replacement player. Of course, as you mention, the schedules and everything else will vary, including injuries.

I will also make those changes to Dude's Gamblers before I run any sims. I will be simming one week at a time (OOTP will do daily, weekly, monthly or season, but not series like DM, so I figured weekly would work best).

--DM actually only does daily or full season. I just run 3 days worth of sims to complete the series.

Sorry Mark, forgot to add these to my roster page earlier. My pinch-hitting assignments are:

--Dude, you can not demote an injured player. Jackson either has to go on the 15 day DL or you play short for the 10 days he is out.
--Howard is on the Cannons and is out the next 2 games.

I simmed the first week of OOTP. I will list the scores here, but see the notes below. If everyone is comfortable with checking scores from the league website and has time to do so, I won't list them in the future. Please post here or PM me to let me know.

Injuries in first four games: Bob Friend, sore elbow, day to day
Ron Santo, sore shoulder, day to day

Opening day had some real pitching gems:
In JW's game vs the Senators, Bob Johnson hit a HR in the top of the first with one out for the Nats. They didn't muster another hit over the next 10.2 innings. JW wins in 11 with Schwall, McDaniel and Perranoski giving up only the one hit over 11 innings.
Jim Perry threw 8.1 shutout innings, with the relievers finishing up, in Dude's 2-0 whitewashing of the Phils.
Curt Simmons allowed 2 hits in 8 IP, with Frank Funk pitching a hitless ninth, in the Knight's 4-0 shutout win over the REdbirds.

                        ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I strongly encourage all managers to check out the line scores and box scores of their teams' games. If you go to the main screen (Keeper League Main Page) here, you will see the standings, with access to any of the reports shown. If you scroll down to Schedule and click on Past Boxscores, the games will all be listed by line score:

I will be uploading the box scores for the last 14 days each time I sim a week. I will leave them up for a couple of days, as I expect to sim a week every three or four days.

Additionally, if you click on any player listed in a box score, it will bring up his season stats.

Clicking on a team name from the main screen will bring up that team's info screen, with all sorts of info. I encourage everyone to explore the stats. One of the items on the team screen is the team injury report, listing all players who are injured and their status. Another section lists email messages, at the very bottom of the page. These are computer generated and give various info about players, fan base reaction, etc. Again, I encourage you to read all of the info.

I'm a little concerned about stats already. I based the figures for the game engine on the 1961 season and ran some sims to verify them. Unfortunately, this is only a 12 team league, and not having the other six teams in the league could result in some VERY skewed stats. I've seen this before in OOTP when you are doing a fantasy league based on a real season , but without the correct number of teams (I had three players hit 100+ HR in that league). If it persists, I will reset the league and add six teams to the NL in OOTP just to try and even things out. But when I see Mantle and Maris both with 3 HR already, I get a bit nervous.

BTW, interesting emails arrived for the REdbirds, Gamblers and the doormats.
All were from players who advised their teams they will retire after the season. Six could be expected, but one was a real shocker.
                            Redbirds: Hoyt Wilhelm, Diomedes Olivo

Oh wow, Wilhelm's going to retire already? That could put a damper on the teams relief pitching.

KK Mark, I'm putting Jackson on the 15 day DL then.
