  • 1982 Season Thread

--Welcome to the 22ndt season of CKL baseball. Normally one series will be played everyday. After each series game results, standings and injury reports will be posted. I'll alternate between team pitching/batting reports and league leaderboards every other series.
--Also, a new league file will go out for DMB owners after every other series. Lew posts box scores and additional information on his web site after each new league file so non-DMB owners can access that info. He also provides a news sheet and picks batter/pitcher of the week so its worth a peek for DMB owners as well.
    --Lets play ball!

--Normally I won't run series so close together, but with no significant injuries and hopefully nobody feeling the need to shake things up yet I went ahead and ran the second series. The Llamas remain undefeated, lead by Mike Schmidt's 8 RBI thru 6 games. Five pitchers have already recorded their 2nd win. The Legends Fernando Valenzula leads the way with 2 complete game shutouts.

My pitching substitutions didn't go right in SIM 2. My fifth starter has limited innings. I wanted him to be alternated with my spot starter posted. Didn't happen. Replacing Carlton was not my expectation. Is there a way to list a starter at 50% and a spot starter at 50%, so they will alternate with each other? Even though there appears to be a % box to the right of the starters on the DM disk, it doesn't appear to be accessible.
            Thanks.

--If you list a spot starter in the slot of the guy you want to him to split time with you can list a percentage there. For example, if your 4th starter has limited innings you can put a pitcher in the 4 box for spot starters and give him 50% (or whatever you wish) of that starters scheduled starts. If you have a job share situation you might want to list another guy (with no percentage) in the 1 box under spot stater to cover for any pitcher who misses due to injury. The way you have it set up now (Dravecky spot starter #1 at 50%) he will take half of your #1 starter's (Carlton) games.

The Llamas are in need of a top end starter. we have tons of cap room, and are willing to pull the trigger if the right player is available.

Thanks, Mark, I didn't realize that's how it worked. Please move Dave Dravecki down to the #5 position in the Spot Starter role. Jack
