      Ummm... in doing the pre-season sims, did anyone have the Hulbert winner at sub .500? Just curious.

        --I did have one sim where the Legends won at 83-85. Normally the Skipjacks and/or Legends ended up in the 90s though.

                --The Hulbert starts to rise from their early season slumber, with the Legends and Badgers each picking up sweeps tonite. The Knights continue to roll, running their winning streak to 12 and claiming the league's best record. The Corsairs are doing their best to keep me even overall though, losing 5 in a row and 9 of 10.

                  --The Corsairs needed everything to go right to contend this season and things have gone very wrong early. Anybody signed/usefull only for this year is available for draft picks or players who will help starting 84-85.

                  C Carlton Fisk (5.0, FA 79-82)
                  --All Star caliber season who could provide a nice upgrade for most teams
                  1B Cesar Cedeno (3.0, FA81-82)
                  --solid starter at 1B or CF
                  SP Dick Ruthven (2.0, FA81-82)
                  --league average inings eater who could solidify the back of a shaky rotation
                  RP Mike Proly (5.0, FA82)
                  --good closer or even better in setup role
                  OF Gary Roenicke (12.0, FA82)
                  --maybe my best player if you can fit him under your cap
                  SP Nolan Ryan (15.0, FA82)
                  --my best SP, but price tag could be a problem for most trade partners
                  IF Garth Iorg (.25, FA80-82)
                  --VG at 2B and 3B and okay with the bat
                  OF: Steve Kemp (2.5, draft 77)
                  --I have HTD discount rights so he would be slightly more expensive

                        He shows as a free agent in my DM report, so I have to believe he is. Not a bad fourth starter (or even third) at a lot of innings for 250K!

                          There was a ton of FA pitchers out there who were decent after FA this year.

                            The Maloy Boys have traded Brian Giles and their 4th round pick in 1985 to the Corsairs for Garth Iorg. Mark will confirm.
