            The Cleveland Spiders select
            Joe Tinker

we opt for the option of solidifying our SS needs for at least the next 7 years rather than taking a pitcher that we have rated the highest remaining player.

We considered Tinker with the 1st pick. Just couldn't pass up a pitcher the quality of Joss. 6 of the next 7 highest remaining players on our board are position players so hopefully one of them will fall to us at #13

Yeah - I think Joss was easily the best player in the draft. Tinkers value is purely positional cuz his bat really is not much to talk about. But finding a no brainer full time starter at short with a great glove is huge at this point.

I have it - but I need to adjust base running ratings and pitcher durability ratings . . . i will submit the file without the changes today and the updated version before the draft officially starts

My list is very pitcher-heavy at the top (six of the top eight). Maybe I'm slightly overweighting my own needs.

btw, Tinker wasn't one of the two position players in that top eight. probably because I value regular starters who are usually good but rarely great lower than it seems anyone else does.

I agree with your assesment on Pitching in this draft. I had several guys offensively rated better than Tinker, and quite a few pitchers too. Team need raised him up on my draft list a lot.
