1) Nap Lajoie: another big season - and this time led Inmates to the pennant!
2) Ginger Beaumont: CF was leading bat for Sharks
3) Jesse Burkett: big season for Rams LF
4) Jake Beckley: nice season for Kumquats first sacker
5) Ed Delehanty: probably league's best hitter, but DH for non-playoff team
6) Buck Freeman: Delehanty's top competition with bat, but DH for non-contender
7) Roger Bresnahan: caught 140 games and drove in 99 runs
8) Lave Cross: drove in 100 while playing a solid 3B
9) George Davis: best position player on league's best team
10) Fielder Jones: might have traded places with Beaumont if Sharks had used him in CF instead

1. Jack Taylor, NO- After much internal debating I have finally gone on over to the dark side and voted for a pitcher as MVP. In this case I think no other player was more valuable to their team and dominated as much as Taylor.
2. Nap Lajoie, ASY - Great batting average once again. Playing 116 games hurt his overall nubers though.
3. Buck Freeman, RR - Leader in HR's, 3B's, RBI's, and SLG% while finishing 2nd in runs score and top 10 in AVG, 2B, and OBP
4. George Davis, NO - his .321 average while playing a solid SS were instrumental in the Barons dominance.
5. Charlie Hemphill, ASY - Somewhat overlooked this season. Put up great numbers for the inmates while playing every game. scored over 100 runs and knocked in over 100. One of only 3 players to do so this year.
6. Honus Wagner, JAM - Big 2nd half of the season coincided with Jamestown's run at the AL pennant. He was hitting .249 thru the middle of June and finished at .301 with a whopping 71 stolen bases.
7. Ginger Beaumont, LAQ - Great batting average while playing a solid LF for the Sharks.
8. Fielder Jones, LAQ - The other outfielder for the Sharks was almost as good and played a great CF
9. Lave Cross, DET - 98 Runs scored and 102 runs batted in. A solid .322 avg while manning the hot corner for the Tigers.
10. Ed Delahanty, LPB - Great offensive numbers would have had him higher had the Bums made it to the playoffs.Baseball statistics are like a girl in a bikini. They show a lot, but not everything. ~Toby Harrah
