Definately nominating rookie closer, Jim St. Vrain. He made the all-star team and has been one of if not THE top closers in the league. Currently he's tied for the league lead with 32 saves.

--The Dragons had 2 rookies make big contributions this year. OF Duff Cooley played 152 games and posted a 285/325/388 lines, scoring 85 runs for a team that struggled offensively. Henry Theilman went 11-12 with 4 saves (starting the year as our closer before getting promoted to the rotation when both Malarky and Menefee stunk up the joint). He had a 2.65 ERA in 204 IP, completing 17 of 21 games after his promotion to SP. If I had made the change a little earlier maybe we'd be getting ready to face the Barons in round one instead of getting an early start to our offseason.

Homer Smoot, ASY - .304 batting average in 144 games. 71 runs and 75 rbi's. He was a vital cog of Asylums pennant this year. (a slight asterisk homer vote since I made this pick in Ed's absence - regardless he is still deserving)

Carl Lundgren, NO - 15-11 with a 3.19 ERA was the #4 pitcher for the NL champs.

Jim St Vrain, NO - an AllStar and another huge contributer to a pennent winner.

I'd like to nominate our rookie Addie Joss. While he didn't get much run support this season ERA and innings pitched makes him a very strong candidate.

Addie Joss, and it's not even close.

Smoot, Cooley, St Vrain and Lundgren were good, Thielman was very good - Joss was amazing. I don't even want to nominate anyone else

I would have voted for Joss right off had I known he was a rookie as well. I have edited my ballot, putting Addie Joss first, with Smoot now second and Thielman third. Lundgren gets bumped from the ballot.
