Most of us probably agree that the BBWAA voters have been too tough, choosing to vote down any marginal candidate rather than risk voting him in. The Veterans Committee and/or the Old-Timers Committee have generally erred in the other direction -- sometimes voting in players of very doubtful qualification for the Hall of Fame.
