Aubrey Huff has been in the big leagues since 2000 and has hit .279 with 241 home runs, 897 RBI and 1,684 hits in his 12-year career. He has eclipsed the 20 home run mark seven times and the 30 home run mark twice, while driving in at least 100 runs three times, scoring at least 100 runs once and hitting .300 or better three times. He has received MVP votes in three seasons, finishing as high as seventh in the league.

In 2008, Huff led the league in extra base hits, taking home a Silver Slugger Award that season. He is 35th among active players in that category, as well as 19th in intentional walks and 24th in sacrifice flies. In the playoffs, he has had some success--for example, in the 2010 World Series, he posted a .957 OPS while hitting .294.

Statistically, Huff is similar to Vernon Wells, George Bell, Cliff Floyd, Ben Oglivie, Raul Ibanez, Jose Guillen, Rico Carty, Mike Lowell, Bill White and Ryan Klesko. The Fan EloRater places him at #802, ahead of Joe Start, Happy Felsch and Charles Johnson, but behind Bill North, Steve Kemp and Patsy Dougherty.

If Aubrey Huff has another ~500 hits in him, as the Favorite Toy suggests, I will be shocked.

With that being said, even if he gets another 1,000 hits, he still won't be close to Hall of Fame worthy.

He is a lesser Rocky Colavito, IMO.

Since there is not a "No Way In Hell" option, I simply voted "no".

If he reached his projections, he would be a fondly-remembered Greg Luzinski type player. Not a Hall of Famer, but decent. fell off a cliff last year, kept falling this year and I think it's going to be difficult for him to even find work next year...so reaching those projections is going to be rather difficult.

Like Jason Bay, Aubrey Huff recently retired. And like Bay, the question is this: Did he do enough to earn 1% of the vote? Or will he earn just a vote or two? Or none at all?
