  • Who will be the first player elected to the HOF that used PED's?

Now, I'm sure there are players in the HOF that used that we don't know about. I have strong suspicions about a few, but we won't go there. Who will be the first one elected that the writers knew used? It won't be Mac, Sosa, or Giambi. Clemens and Bonds have the numbers to get in even before the steroids, but they weren't always liked by the media. A-Rod for some reason is getting a pass, could it be him? Andy Pettitte with 30 more wins would also be interesting, since he only admitted to using HGH to heal faster. Thoughts?
Lou Gehrig is the Truest Yankee of them all!

    Nolan Ryan.

...Whoops, missed the first part of your post. I have to go with Barry Bonds on this one - only because he will have a several-year head start on A-Rod. Clemens retired the same year as Bonds but I think the hatred for him is even stronger than for Bonds at this point. Plus I don't think that Clemens was necessarily a slam-dunk Hall of Famer before he started juicing. (I'm assuming he started juicing before the '97 season). Bonds was a Hall of Fame lock before he started using.

Either Bonds, Arod, or Irod. I have my suspicions about certain players in the HOF as well, but with no proof, they are nothing more then merely suspicions. Also, Pettitte will never get in. In fact, I think Pettitte will suffer the same fate that Kevin Brown did.

I wasn't aware that anything had been proven in regard to Ivan Rodriguez. Wasn't it just an allegation in Canseco's book?

A-Rod. Is he even still being heckled on the road? Him admitting to using PEDs seems to be forgotten now. Bonds will never get in because of his a-hole attitude towards the press.
Using a stolen chant from Boston Celtics fans whenever an L.A. team is playing up there just reeks of inferiority complex.

If hitting a baseball is the toughest thing to do in sports, then pitching must be the easiest thing to do in sports.

Well, considering the fact that Canseco was correct about everyone else he named (Juan Gonzalez, Mcgwire, Palmerio, etc), the chances of Rodriguez never juicing is slim, and I say this despite being a huge fan of his. That said, he never really faced any steroid backlash, and many people forgot about the allegations in Canseco's book, so I think he gets in, hell maybe even on the first ballot.

I think the better question is: Will letting one known juicer open the door for others? How do you justify Arod being in the HOF when he cheated, and yet leave Bonds, Clemens, Mcgwire, Ramirez, etc, out when what they did was exactly the same thing Arod did. The whole "Hall of famer before steroids" argument doesn't really fly, because nobody truly knows how long any of these players cheated.

yes. the HOF is voted by the media and bonds liked to piss at the media and they don't like that.

bonds would be the most logical choice though since he had a hof career before he used.

I honestly don't think any of them will be inducted.

                    Probably somebody already in.
They call me Mr. Baseball. Not because of my love for the game; because of all the stitches in my head.

This. Anyone who believes otherwise is naive or just has a grudge against certain players they don't like.

"Cheating" as a reason for HOF banishment when out the window when Gaylord Perry was inducted, if not earlier.

There's as much evidence that Nolan Ryan juiced as there is for Sosa. Rickey, too, though Canseco was adamant that Rickey was clean during their time as teammates.

Canseco is an unapologetic steroid using, Madonna-dating, multiple time felon who has lied and/or cheated or broken the law more in a decade than most people could ever imagine. If you believe everything he says just because he has pinpointed a handful of people correctly (most of which should have been pretty obvious all of us), then I feel very sorry for you.
