Rate the 2013 BBWAA candidates

Please rate all the BBWAA candidates, listed below, using the following scale:

5 pts: Inner circle Hall of Famer, at least in the top 3 or 4 at his position except for pitcher, when I'd go to 12-20;
4 pts: solid Hall of Famer--few if any questions about his worthiness;
3 pts: worthy of the Hall of Fame, but usually has some significant drawbacks to overcome;
2 pts: has a case but short of my vote;
1 pt: had some highlights, but well short of worthy of the Hall;
0 pts: No way!

I'll add another 5 points for being on the ballot to your evaluation to get his score, and publish the results before the results of the BBWAA election are released on 1/9.

For the project, scores of 7.75 or above will be regarded as indicating we believe the individual is worthy of induction. I come up with that number based on 75% 3's (in) and 25% 2's (out), which matches the HOF requirement of 75% of the vote.

I like this application of the 1-5 rating system.

Sandy Alomar Jr. (0) - The guy was a very good defensive catcher, but c'mon.
Jeff Bagwell (4) - Once rated 5th best all time I believe... now more like top dozen at 1B.
Craig Biggio (4) - Was he clean? Who knows. But he has no 'cloud' over him. Easy choice.
Barry Bonds (5) - Case by case basis... this guy was a great player before he blew up like a balloon.
Jeff Cirillo (1) - Usually accompanied the phrase "professional hitter". Also played some D. Not a HOFer.
Royce Clayton (0) - Major league shortstop. Next.
Roger Clemens (5) - HOFer before he went to Toronto.
Jeff Conine (0) - Just a guy who filled out rosters most years.
Steve Finley (2) - Close to a "3" score. Underrated center fielder.
Julio Franco (2) - Played forever. His career as a SS/2B was pretty valuable though.
Shawn Green (1) - Respectable numbers, had some big time power seasons. Suspected 'roider but not implicated to my knowledge.
Roberto Hernandez (2) - Enough of a career as a closer to get past "1", but he did not compile / was not dominant enough.
Ryan Klesko (0) - DH playing in the NL. Another .500 slugger in the steroid era, ho-hum.
Kenny Lofton (3) - Here's the guy this ballot who will be one and done, and who should get a better look.
Edgar Martinez (3) - Tremendous hitter. Best DH in history, if you don't count players like Frank Thomas. No suspicions either.
Don Mattingly (3) - Kind of comparable to Frank Chance, but no player-managing. Borderline 2/3 for me.
Fred McGriff (3) - Would not shame the HOF at all.
Mark McGwire (3) - People are selling this guy short; he would be viewed as an easy "5". But it's near impossible to project his career because nearly all of it was spent on the juice.
Jose Mesa (0) - He was a major league closer. Next.
Jack Morris (2) - Not a Morris fan; was not one of the best pitchers of the 80s, was not the consistent big-game pitcher he is made out to be.
Dale Murphy (3) - Somewhere around 15th best CFer. On the bubble. I like him.
Rafael Palmeiro (3) - Feel bad for this guy, and really I shouldn't. Docked a point for roiding.
Mike Piazza (4) - Some rumors regarding roids but nothing substantial. See: Jeff Bagwell. Best hitting catcher of all time, not counting Josh Gibson.
Tim Raines (4) - One of the guys that really needs stumping.
Reggie Sanders (1) - Quietly put together a fine career. Not suspected as far as I know.
Curt Schilling (4) - An absolutely filthy pitcher who put it together too late to be an inner circle HOFer.
Aaron Sele (0) - Uh... what?
Lee Smith (3) - Admirable relief choice. I've got no qualms with his election.
Sammy Sosa (3) - Pretty clear track record showing he roided to stardom. Only saving grace for me is that it happened before the MLB sanctions were handed out.
Mike Stanton (0) - Lefty setup man. Next.
Alan Trammell (4) - Unfortunate byproduct of Ripken and Smith's stardom.
Larry Walker (4) - The guy was a five tool player, and not suspected to my knowledge.
Todd Walker (0) - ...
David Wells (2) - There are definitely pitchers in the HOF who had worse careers than Wells.
Rondell White (0) - Apart from being barely good enough to qualify for the list, he was named in the Mitchell Report.
Bernie Williams (3) - Was he really that bad a fielder to offset his superb hitting? Big fan of Williams; still he's a borderline guy.
Woody Williams (0) - Major league starter. Next. Oh wait, were done. Well...
