So it looks like no one's making it so far? Raines, Biggio, Bagwell are right on the cusp. Edgar and Morris slipping. Looks like these might be the picky voters.

They just showed a count with 89 voters on MLB and Biggio was the leader with slightly less than 70%.

Looks like maybe nobody gets in with the writers this year.

I think he should be in but I wasn't expecting him or Clemens to make it. I just have to wonder how long they will snub Clemens and Bonds.

Raines, Bagwell and Biggio already are probably above the point where they will get in eventually. I don't think many players have moved up to near 70% fairly quickly and then not made it. Is this Jack Morris' last year? how many does he have left? I hope he doens't make it. I am torn on Walker and Trammell but they should both have more support than some other guys I think.

Morris only has one more year on the ballot. If he's closer than he was last year (48 votes short), I don't know what the voters will do. If you are already voting for Clemens, and you have Maddux and Glavine to vote for, are you going to pick a fourth pitcher on a full ballot, let alone a small one, with all the other guys — including the fact that people are voting for Schilling and not Morris.

If no one gets in, then I think Morris won't make it next year, unless the Dale Murphy protest votes all switch to Morris protest votes.

Raines is going to be stuck for a while. Biggio and Bagwell are the first two hitter choices and Piazza is basically his equal as a first-year guy. Depending on what happens with Frank Thomas next year and people's opinion of Bonds, that makes Raines the sixth best hitter on the ballot with three stud pitcher choices. He'll make the big ballots but is screwed on the small ones.

Biggio and Bagwell almost need to get in this year. Morris won't matter. He is out of the running after next year anyway. So if he misses it's not a long term issue. Piazza getting in next year hinges on the Killer Bs going in now.

The logjam of having everyone not making it and having 17 names carry over with at least 5% of the vote is what i'm nervous for. My prediction: Biggio, Bagwell, Morris make it. These will be eliminated: Cirillo, conine, clayton, alomar, green, hernandez, klesko, mesa, sele, stanton, T. walker, r. white, reggie sanders, julio franco, david wells, woody williams. murphy not elected and falls off ballot. This leaves the following on the ballot: Lee Smith, Tim Raines, Alan Trammell, Edgar Martinez, Fred Mcgriff, Larry Walker, Mark McGwire, Don Mattingly, Rafael Palmeiro, Bernie Williams, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Mike Piazza, Curt Schilling, Kenny Lofton, Sammy Sosa, Steve Finley. With this much carry over it will make it difficult to select some very worthy candidates. Who suffers here? The clean players who were in the minors who never got their shot due to steroids, the choices of the steroids/ped users and the lack of policing by MLB caused this dilemma. Now the steroid users will cost some solid players from even getting 5% of the vote. Julio Franco, reggie sanders and maybe even steve finley may fall off. Bernie Williams may fall below 5%. Lee smith will fall to 25% This will not only effect this ballot, but as long as clemens, bonds, sosa, palmeiro and mcgwire are on the ballot some will vote for them, costing someone else a vote that should have had it. Either let them fall off or vote for them and get it over with. Don't cost the game anymore. This is very much like the girlfriend who won't go away in deed or in the ears of his friends.

Basd on previous trackers, a +/- 10 point MOE spread is about the extremes. So Biggio is the only one with a realistic chance, unless there are some very particular reasons why voters of certain players are not disclosing. Maybe the Morris fans are too embarrassed?

I won't be pleased if Lofton drops off the ballot. He, like Kevin Brown who dropped off the ballot his first year, should be in the HOF.

No. I think Nellie Fox drew above 74% but not quite 75% and missed. It has to at least be .75. No rounding up.
