  • T or F - If Mike Piazza cannot get in the HOF, no-one else from that era should

If Mike Piazza cannot get into the Hall of Fame, where he deserves to be, then nobody else from that era should get in.

    No Ken Griffey Jr.
    No Greg Maddux
    No Pedro Martinez
    No Derek Jeter
    No Mariano Rivera
    No Mike Mussina
    No Tom Glavine
    No Randy Johnson
    No Frank Thomas

We'll just wait until 2030 when Albert Pujols is eligible before we celebrate another HOF inductee.

All of em deserve to be in but if there keeping Piazza out for peds then everybody on that list is suspect and should be kept out too.

Although if there was a clean player it would be Frank Thomas. He's been campaigning against steroids since the 90's.

At worst, he'll get the Bagwell treatment and have to wait a few years.

That is, unless he confesses to PED use in that autobiography he's supposedly been working on for so long.

I would think most of those guys on that list were clean but even with Frank Thomas it wouldn't shock me if he did use. I think some of these guys may have tryed steroids for a short time and stopped using but I don't know if thats any different than what Bonds and company did.

          Why should Pujols get in?

If Bonds and Clemens don't then no one should.

We know Bonds and Clemens used PED's. We don't suspect it, we know it. We have no such knowledge about Pujols. Pretty simple concept.

The HOF is not a one and done situation. We'll have to wait 15 years to see if Piazza gets in or not. I don't think we'll have to regardless of what happens Wednesday.

No Frank Thomas, regardless of how much he campaigned.

Just because someone was loud does not mean they are innocent. Just because someone was quiet, like Piazza was, does not mean they are guilty.

If Piazza cannot get in first ballot, nobody from that era should. Not Frank Thomas. Not Derek Derek Jeter. Not Pedro Martinez. None of them. Keeping Piazza out means you have to keep everyone out.

My feeling, in a nutshell. Is it more just for neither Biggio nor Piazza to get in, for Biggio to go in by himself? I'll take the latter, thanks.

There are so many great players on this ballot, even if he doesn't make it, there's no telling how much PED allegations will have hurt. Two wrongs don't make..., etc.

There's plenty that are already struggling that shouldn't be and plenty that waited longer than they should have. The Hall of Fame is a very flawed institution. I think our only choices are take it as it is, or ignore it.

Without trying to be insulting, this is with out a doubt one of the biggest pieces of nonsense I've ever heard. Just because one, count them ONE person doesn't get in no one should get in?

Well, no. They both deny it. And they have not been proven to in court. We may strongly suspect them.

But even that, why exclude Piazza but not Pujols?

Doesn't matter if it's only one person - that one person still counts.

An injustice against one should be an injustice against all. You have to be consistent. That's called integrity.
