1. John Smoltz
2. Albert Belle
3. Tony Mullane
4. Trevor Hoffman
5. Lee Smith
6. Tommy Bond
7. Larry Walker
8. Rafael Palmeiro
9. Willie Randolph
10. Tony Perez
11. Darrell Evans
12. Kenny Lofton
Contributors
1. Curt Flood
2. Frank Jobe
3. Gil Hodges
4. Ring Lardner
5. Jim Bouton
Note: I briefly considered Hodges for the players list, then realized I was combining the two. The way the Hall of Fame does it, he should be in already. Separating him as we do, he's probably borderline for each, but the competition's fiercer for players than contributors, so I voted him for the latter. I also didn't disqualify PED-suspicious players entirely, but did grade them on something of an arbitrary curve. As much as I dislike Clemens and Palmeiro, I had to conclude that they would have been worthy of their places even had they been clean.

Your ballot will count, but Clemens has already been elected (I see he wasn't on the list in the thread as having been inducted, which has now been corrected). So all the players below him move up if you don't fix this, and the #12 spot is open. I would prefer you fix it yourself, though, and fill that open spot. I'll also PM you on this.
Yeah, I was surprised to see Clemens on the eligible list, but figured the 'roids thing was keeping him out. Glad that's been cleared up.
P.S. - when you get a chance, you should edit the eligible list as well, as Clemens is still on it.Last edited by toomanyhatz; 11-23-2012, 12:53 PM.Found in a fortune cookie On Thursday, August 18th, 2005: "Hard words break no bones, Kind words butter no parsnips."

14) Other than the sportsmanship and character issues, players are to be evaluated solely upon their play. I would prefer that if a player is qualified by his play standing alone that he be elected on that basis. However, a candidate may only be elected either as a contributor or a player, but not both. Contributors are the area where the entire body of work during his career in the sport, including his play, managing, scouting, executive, writing, broadcasting or other work in the sport is relevant.Seen on a bumper sticker: If only closed minds came with closed mouths.

This election is open until just before midnight tonight EST.
On another point, I've decided that for elections now and in the future, two will definitely be elected, but we'll take the third place finisher if he also is named on at least 75% of the ballots.Seen on a bumper sticker: If only closed minds came with closed mouths.
