    Rodriguez/Bench
    1B - Hernandez/Pujols
    2B - Maz/Alomar
    SS - Belanger/Ozzie Smith
    3B- Brooks/Nettles
    LF - YAZ/Warren Cromartie
    CF -Jones/Mays
    RF - Clemente/Harry Hopper
    P-Gibson/Katt

A couple of guys who wont make the cut but really impressed me with their fielding skills - Johnny Callison(RF)- wheels, very strong arm and really knew how to position self for best results possible. Gets lost among RF in NL among Aaron, Robinson and Clemente. Ken Berry(CF) - really good "get back" and covered a lot of ground for the White Sox. Willie Davis (CF) - one of the fastest players ever. His rep got unfairly damaged by a terrible single game WS performance. Clete Boyer(3B)Right there with Nettles as best fielding Yankee 3B - quick hands, arm -really good at playing bunts.

''A sport without black people ain't a sport. That's just a game!... That's like me saying, 'Ooh, I got the highest SAT score in the whole world, but no Asians took the test.' What kind of crap is that? 'I just won the marathon. No Kenyans could run, though!'''

My contribution to the madness. I'm only picking player I actually watched play.

CA Gary Carter (Honorable Mention, Tony Pena and Ivan Rodriguez and all three Molina Brothers!)
      1B Keith Hernandez
2B Roberto Alomar (Honorable Mention, Willie Randolph)
3B Mike Schmidt (Honorable Mention, Adrian Beltre and Scott Rolen)
SS Ozzie Smith (Honorable Mention, Cal Ripken Jr. and Omar Vizquel)
LF Willie Wilson (Don't suppose I can claim Doug Glanville or Lance Johnson here?)
CF Andruw Jones (Honorable Mention, Devon White and Kenny Lofton)
RF Andre Dawson (Honorable Mention, Ichiro Suzuki and Jason Heyward)
P Greg Maddux (Honorable Mention, Jim Abbott)

"No matter how great you were once upon a time — the years go by, and men forget,” - W. A. Phelon in Baseball Magazine in 1915. “Ross Barnes, forty years ago, was as great as Cobb or Wagner ever dared to be. Had scores been kept then as now, he would have seemed incomparably marvelous.”

I'll amend my list to those I have seen personally:

C - Yadier Molina, Tom Pagnozzi, Tony Pena

Exactly. I have seen a couple games at random parks when I was in a far away city on business or TDY in the Army, but almost all of the games I have seen have come at 3 places nearby: Busch Stadium when I was a kid, the Metrodome when living in by downtown Minneapolis, and now the Rangers either in Arlington or in AAA Round Rock.

Bobby V used to play that clod in CF, for chrissakes...

                      • I think you have to stick with guys you've seen and the farther back you go, the harder it is to compare, but:
                        C. Carlton Fisk, Benito Santiago
                        1B. Don Mattingly, Derek Lee
                        2B. Roberto Alomar, Dustin Pedroia
                        SS. Tony Fernandez, Alan Trammell
                        3B. Scott Rolen, Robin Ventura
                        CF. Jim Edmonds, Fred Lynn
                        RF. Jesse Barfield, Dave Parker
                        LF. Darin Erstad, Ricky Henderson
