I can't see Smoltz making it at this point. I know he's got the Eckersley factor going for him, and when healthy, he has been a much better starter than Eckersley was as a starter. But Eckersley was just about the most dominant reliever ever for about a 5 or 6 year stretch, and that stretch had a lot to do with bringing prominence to the position. Smoltz was a very, very good reliever but it was just for a three year stretch. If Smoltz reaches 200 wins, then I think his chances will improve immensely, but that is not likely to happen until at least 2007.Originally posted by GiambiJuiceComment

Satchel started a grand total of five games in 1949. He had twelve starts as a member of the Indians. Newhouser had exactly one start with the Indians in 1954. He had no starts in 1955.
