The more they stay the same.

I just got done reading "Veeck...as in Wreck". Brilliant book, by a brilliant man. He states in the book that baseball is getting slow, and pitchers work too slow, due to the fact that .220 hitting middle infielders are capable of hitting a "bad" pitch out of the park. The ball is much livlier, and ballparks have gotten to be too small.

The book was written in 1962!

He pretty much nailed what's going on today. Except instead of being able to hit "bad" (mistake) pitches out of the park, today's middle infielders are able to hit "good" pitches out of the park, even when a pitcher does his job; which is to disrupt the hitters timing and balance.

I agree, I just thought it ironic, how close he was, 40 years ago, to how most fans feel today.

I know what you mean. Kinda like Cobb in his '61 book, he predicts pretty much exactly what we're dealing with today. NostraTyrus ?
