philkid and pap...who do you rank ahead of maddux alltime?

i should of added a poll comparing the peaks of pedro martinez and maddux. it's truly amazing how two historic pitching peaks occured during the same era.

I currently rank Maddux at #6 all-time, but I haven't adjusted the list for Clemens yet (whom I have at #2 currently).

I have moved Maddux up greatly recently. Ahead of Clemens, and probably ahead of Alexander, Mathewson, and even Grove-all of whom I had higher than him 2 months ago. I have also moved Randy Johnson up from around 10th to in the pack with these guys.

I haven't decided on exact placing, but Maddux could move to 2nd, while I probably had him 7th not long ago, and R. J. could be 3rd or 4th with LQ considerations.

I have him 5th now, behind Johnson, Young, Grove, and Alexander, but could see Maddux moving above Pete.

Have him 4th behind Johnson, Martinez, and Mathewson. Maybe tied for 4th with Young.

I've had him second for a long time, and I see no reason for him to move below Clemens (who I had 3rd) or above Johnson (who I have 1st).

Johnson/Grove/Alexander any given day I may rank one of these men number one. Clemens I'm not quite sure how to rank, because his best season, 1997, came before McNamee. However, I do rank Bonds second. So I see no reason to really penalize clemens. After these four, I'll probably go Cy Young, then perhaps Pedro Martinez. So after those six, I'd probably go Maddux. Then Johnson and then Mathewson.

3rd behind young and johnson, although between 3rd and 6th its all very close. If maddux can remain competitive for another season or 2 then he'll be a more clear 3rd. Ive nevr rated clemens as high. Clemens had the power, but maddux i would say had more skill, and when your this high in the rankings, skill will trump power.

I'm still trying to sort Maddux out, he's at least top 10, probably a lot higher, but I don't see him as better than say Mathewson and I rank Johnson, Grove, Pedro and even Clemens (not-steroid) ahead of Christie and Alexander right behind.
