To bad Lakin couldn't have stayed healthy through-out his career,it would have been fun to see what kinda numbers he could have put up.Jeter will probably go on and get 3,000 hit before his career is over.as a whole I will go with Jeter-but a young healthy Larkin had alot of talent-and was an all around athlete....

what about jeter's defense? how much does that hurt his value? there was recently an article i read that called jeter one of the worst defensive shortstops ever. for a guy who won three straight gg's thats a bit shocking, but i guess they can be wrong.

Kind've frustrating to think, though, that Larkin will likely struggle to get in Cooperstown and Jeter would go in if he retired tonight.

Jeter is well ahead in Win Shares and RCAA and will easily pass Larkin in WARP3 in time. This despite Larkin playing in six more seasons than Jeter. Larkin's inability to stay on the field really hurts him in this comparison.Buck O'Neil: The Monarch of Baseball

I'd take Jeter.
If you replace the average amount of time Larkin missed on a yearly basis and supplemented that with replacement value, you'd probably be behind Jeter.THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT COME WITH A SCORECARD
