Best season by Big Papi?

My mind told me 2007, but my heart said 2006.
I went with my heart. I remember him so desperately wanting to pull the team out of its funk that he started having heart problems...big contrast with Manny taking some time off for unknown reasons at the same point."I throw him four wide ones, then try to pick him off first base." - Preacher Roe on pitching to Musial

I know there was a big drop-off in HR, but I think 2007 was his best all around season.
He posted career highs - by far - in BA and OBP, hit 52 doubles and had his best season in OPS+ by a nice margin. He carried the offense during what was a bad year for Manny Ramirez. My top 10 players:
1. Babe Ruth
2. Barry Bonds
3. Ty Cobb
4. Ted Williams
5. Willie Mays
6. Alex Rodriguez
7. Hank Aaron
8. Honus Wagner
9. Lou Gehrig
10. Mickey Mantle
