Alright I want to start a little thing here, but first I need to know who you guys think are the best players at every position in the last 50 years. So who do you think are the best players at each position from 1958-2008. This is what I mean.

    -Catcher
    -First Baseman
    -Second Baseman
    -Shortstop
    -Third Baseman
    -Left Field
    -Center Field
    -Right Field
    -Starting Pitcher 1
    -Starting Pitcher 2
    -Relief Pitcher
    -Closer

    Now that's the first team.

Now I want you to take the best players at every position from 1900-1958.

    -Catcher
    -First Baseman
    -Second Baseman
    -Shortstop
    -Third Baseman
    -Left Field
    -Center Field
    -Right Field
    -Starting Pitcher 1
    -Starting Pitcher 2
    -Relief Pitcher
    -Closer

When I see a few replies I'll tell you what I'm going to do with these two teams.

I know you cant really choose a closer and relief pitcher for the second team, so just put two more starting pitchers that have less then 150 wins.

You never said if Negro League candidates were eligible. If not, I will go back and revise my listings.

If Negro Leaguers are eligible, I'd put Mackey in as my catcher in the 1900-1958 spot...

I have stopped ranking Sisler over Gehrig in my Top 1B rankings, but in my all-star teams, I give myself more latitude. I can't prove with numbers that George was better than Lou at their respective peaks.

But George was more my kind of player. Faster, more agile, higher BA.

Good thing we had some 1900-58 starters who relieved, that made picking them easier...If only Carlton or Pedro were closers.
